The desire of Calvary Chapel Gwinnett is "equipping of the saints" for the work of the ministry (Eph.4:12). Equipped-to-Serve (ETS) consists of a series of three levels of studies designed to prepare the heart and lay the foundation for those seeking to serve God through this local Fellowship.
Serving can mean many different things to different people from various backgrounds and experiences. Our aim is to have everyone here at Calvary Chapel serving with the same vision and direction as we seek to glorify God in our service to Him.
ETS is intended to help those here at Calvary Chapel understand what it means to serve the Lord and acquaint each one with Calvary's Distinctives and Philosophy of Ministry. The goal...to enable each person to determine what calling God has on their life and with that, to help develop that call.
Each Calvary Chapel ministry falls beneath the umbrella of three Levels.
ETS Level 1
This level consists of help-type ministries, assisting leaders, staff, or team members with the many tasks required for carrying out an effective ministry. Most often Level 1 will have no "direct" leadership, teaching or strong spiritual responsibilities.
ETS Level 2
Level 2 includes opportunities for coordinating certain designated ministries, and may possibly require an involvement in specific areas of leadership, teaching and/or spiritual guidance to those serving and impacted by these ministries.
ETS Level 3
Level 3 servants are charged with the overall leading and teaching of ministry groups that require the highest-accountability spiritual growth and development of its members.
FAQs
- How long do I need to be attending Calvary Chapel before I can serve in a ministry?
- We like people to be attending Calvary Chapel on a regular basis for several months. This gives people a chance to get to know us and for us to know them. After that time, once a person successfully completes the Level 1 requirements, they may begin serving under the guidance of a particular ministry leader.
- Are there any requirements for serving at Calvary Chapel?
- Yes...a person must, at a minimum, complete the Level 1 requirements before actively serving. Because certain ministries carry a higher level of spiritual responsibility, a person must complete the corresponding Level requirements before serving in that particular ministry.
- What is the difference between serving and involvement at Calvary Chapel?
- Calvary Chapel offers many activities that offer involvement without going through any ETS levels. Examples include: Home Bible Study Groups, Men's & Women's Ministry-sponsored activities, and Singles Ministry events to name a few.
- How do I get involved in serving?
- If you're reading this you've already started the process! Pick up a Level 1 Information Packet and materials from the church office. Completely fill out all the included forms, finish the homework assignments and submit all to the church office. You'll automatically be eligible and registered for the next scheduled ETS Level 1 class.
After you've attended the class, you'll be interviewed by one of our ETS Administrators who will then notify the specific ministry leaders that you have successfully completed ETS Level 1 and are ready and willing to begin serving.
